Using PPC In SEO

Wednesday, September 20th, 2006

When you start a site, do you go blindly into the process and randomly choose topics to write about, do you sell random products and market them to random people. Do you tell people in the SEO forum about your gambling website? Of course you don’t and that’s because you would be wasting your time.

Well, the truth is, even if you where marketing the right prodcuts to the right people, you still don’t know that your site will turn visitors into buyers. In some cases you may have the right market, but you don’t know exactly where to take it.

Here are 2 ways that you can use PPC to help you here.

1. If you have a site, you can use PPC as a simple easy way to check if you can convert traffic into buying clients. How do you do this? Just create a PPC campaign and use key words based on what you are selling and see if the traffic is buying. You can split test your site with software to see if one version of your site is better then the other. The problem is that in some cases there is fraud and you will have to keep that in mind but in general if you are selling nothing after a month of constant traffic, you have a problem.

2. If you have a site that passed the test above the time has come to take your scientifically proven site to the top of the search results because all you need now is traffic. To do this with the aid of PPC, all you have to do is see which key words are converting the most people and use those key words to optimize your site. You know that those are they key words being used to get to your site.

Use PPC as a testing tool and experiment with all the key words that you can think of.

You Pay For Search Results?

Wednesday, September 20th, 2006

The topic of search engines raising you up in the result pages as been argued and debated for a very long time. Only the search engines know if having a PPC campaign can actually help your ranking.

Some believe that if you have a PPC campaign running you might create many inbound 1 way links to your site. There are some people out there who create sites solely on content that is taken from other sites with a link to that site. These sites are considered by most as spam. These spam site owners search, not only organic results but also the PPC results thus finding your site and taking your articles and adding them to there site. These links add up and can increase your standings quite a bit.

This is just one of many theories and I hope to verify it in the future with facts and experimenting
