Spamming Key Words

Sunday, September 24th, 2006

Everyone knows that to help optimize a page for search engines, they have to place there key words into there website. This is true, and it allows search engines to see what the page is about. Search engines index pages and not websites, so you have to know the difference that most people do not know.

When it comes time to optimizing the page, there are some people who say that you have to place your key words at least 7% if the time into your content or 7 times in 100 words. This can be hard to do when you are trying to optimize your site for a key phrase because the closer your key words are together on a page, the better chance you have of getting indexed for those words.

Spamming Key words, WILL BE SEEN. This will get you banned from the search results. No only that but people reading will want to leave. Don’t spam words on a page because you will lose.

When you try to get some words into your content, try and write the text so it makes sense to the reader or they will have to be forced to leave. Bad quality writing will cause people to leave.

Beware Of The Gray Bar.

Wednesday, September 20th, 2006

When you talk with any knowledgeable internet marketer who knows even a little bit about SEO, he/she will tell you that your google page rank or PR is not very important. When you increase the amount of links to your site, you usually affect that little green bar.

If you don’t know about PR then please go to toolbar.google.com and download the toolbar. If you go to a site you will see there page rank. If they have a high page rank, it can mean many things. The only thing that is known is that that bar is calculated with a very complicated system determined by the amount and types of links going in and leaving the site.

What happens if people abuse the fact that your PR is based on links and  you artificially inflate the number somehow. Well, this is called black hat SEO and it will get you banned from google’s index instantly. One day you can be number 1 and the next, you are gone. you know a site is banned because they have a gray bar.
So what does this have to do with you? Well, if you link to a banned site, you will risk lowering your PR and even getting banned yourself and that would dramatically decrease the opportunities for free tartgeted search engine traffic that you could have gotten.

Watch out for those sites. They have a few characteristics. If the site is high in a seach engine with crazy content then you should be afraid. Non-sensical writing is a common characteristic of a banned site.

Stay away from them, your site will thank you in the end.
