How Do I Dominate Low Competition Key Phrases Using a Blog?

Tuesday, April 24th, 2007

Using SEO is a great way to get traffic to one’s blog. It can seem like a nightmare when one tries to learn SEO from scratch, but after a while, SEO becomes as easy as a few simple daily tasks. The basics of SEO tell us we need to build links, but how many do we need? The amount of links needed to bring a site to the top of search engines depends on the competition of the phrases one targets.

One can simply dominate low Competition key phrases with ease through a bit of link building and anchor text optimization. To accomplish this, one must first start with research. Research is the key to any project on the net. Many believe they can begin an online business without research, but this is one of the biggest mistakes anyone can make. To begin research, use a tool like wordtracker, the adwords key word tool, or the Yahoo overture tool. Do a basic search of key words in one’s niche and take down a list of the most searched with the least competition.

To further one’s research, one can use sites such as Yahoo answers, forums, blogs, online news, and more. The possibilities are endless on the internet. Actually, a topic with a large amount of research resources is a sign the niche has some profit in it.

The next step is to right the article. The title should be related to the best of your key phrases. This article must also be written with at least 250 words. The more words written, the more key phrases in the article, the better chance it will be found in search engines.

The final element of the article is the Bio. The main benefit of the bio is that it contains links to your site. One must place 2 links in the bio maximum. One link must be of the site in plain URL form because many people, who take articles from article directories, fail to use the html and take just the writing so one can make sure their URL is readable. Secondly, one should place a link to the same site using the anchor text desired. This way, one will receive massive SEO benefits from any published article.

The final step of this process is to use a blog to upload the article written. Blogs are very search engine friendly, they are optimized with titles and links, and it is easy for one to add content to a blog. After you upload the content on your blog, place the article on an article directory like ezinearticles.com or any of the other many directories.

In literally a few days, the page with the article will be seen on the top of the search for the phrase being optimized thanks to this strategy. If this has not happened, create another article in a similar fashion as the first, on a new, but similar topic.

Where Can I Find Writing Jobs On The Net?

Wednesday, April 18th, 2007

Blogging is very popular these days. If you are a writer and you need some work, you have an almost limitless supply of writing jobs around the net. Internet businesses everywhere need your skills so don’t worry about finding work.

All you have to do is go out and find blogs with similar subjects you can write about. No matter what topics those may be, you can find a blog for them. All there is to do is ask whoever owns a particular blog you’re interested in and ask if they could use any more content. If the blog owner you asked says they don’t need any content, just move on to the next blog you find. Offer the blog owner a sample of your work. If they like your work, then discuss a price.

Also, you can try freelance sites such as www.elance.com and www.scriptlance.com, you can become a writer for a variety of websites. Those freelance sites have business people posting new new jobs up on an hourly basis. You can register for free and make a bid for work. Be careful though, you might have to build a reputation by working for less than you deserve until you get good reviews and feedback.

You too can become a blogger without a blog. Just use the tips I gave you above and you will never be without some kind of busy work. Keep in mind that the internet is ever expanding and the thirst for information can never be quenched. People like to read many articles about the same topic to get different view points so writing is a very important skill to have. If you are a writer, you are very lucky to be alive, now, when your skills are needed by business people who either don’t have the time or can’t write.

Is There An Alternative to Adsense On My Blog?

Tuesday, April 10th, 2007

Adsense is the lazy way to income. Everyone likes the fact that they take some code, throw it onto a web page and can enjoy an almost scientific income. I say scientific because it is measured with percentages and click CTR. One can easily predict the amount of income they will make with a certain amount of visitors.

Sadly, this income can be so tiny; it would not even cover the hosting of the site. With enough visitors, one expects to earn massive income but some people just don’t have a need to click on links that lead away for the site with the answer to there problems or with info they where searching for. Many webmasters resort to tricking their visitors into clicking on ads by blending them with the comment area and the menu. This is misleading and deceitful.

Other ways of making money from your blog are by selling an affiliate product, selling your own product, and starting a list.

To sell affiliate products, join an affiliate program of a product related to the theme of your site. There are plenty of products available. Then you write a few articles about the product and post them on your blog. Finally, Send those articles to Ezinearticles.com or whatever article directory you see fit.

To create your own product write an E-book of 20-100 pages, create a little splash page with bullets of the benefits, and place it on your site. The book should solve some major problem of your blogs audience. Then, write a few articles about it and send them to article directories.

To create a list, first you join some kind of mailing list management service or buy software. Then, place the code on your site and offer a free gift so people will join. Also, allow people to join if they buy your product so you can get two for one there.
